Rugby woman to face fear of heights with charity bungee jump

Rugby Editorial 15th Apr, 2017   0

A LEAP of faith awaits a Rugby woman who will be going to great heights to raise money for charity on her birthday.

Alison Sneddon will mark her 29th birthday with a 132-foot bungee jump to help raise money for around 16million people who are facing starvation in East Africa.

The Catholic Agency For Overseas Development (CAFOD) charity worker hopes the challenge will raise much-needed funds for families who are suffering because of drought, lack of food and civil war.

Alison said: “I am planning to do the jump when I visit my brother in Glasgow – it was actually his suggestion.

“I have been abseiling and para-jumping before and I hated them both!

“I don’t know why I keep ending up jumping off high places but although it makes me feel uneasy, I know it always a great experience and I get to help others in the process.

“When I heard about the East Africa Crisis Appeal, I knew that I wanted to dedicate my jump to the appeal especially as I get to see every day all the great work that CAFOD, and their local partners, are doing to help the communities who have been affected.”

The jump will take place at Killiecrankie in Scotland on Monday (April 17).
