A ‘BETTER deal’ for Rugby residents is the goal of the town’s Liberal Democrat candidate for the July 4 general election.
Richard Dickson has been selected as the party’s candidate for the Rugby constituency.
Mr Dickson was born in Warwickshire – and said he would bring ‘work experience in business, higher education and the not-for-profit sector’ if elected, and would also work closely with the Liberal Democrat team of councillors in the town.
He said: “My priorities are a better deal for Rugby residents on health, including mental health, the economy and skills for young people, climate change and adaptation.
“The old two-party system is broken – I want to help create new systems of government that provide a genuine fair deal for voters.”
Mr Dickson previously stood in the neighbouring Kenilworth and Southam seat in the last three general elections in 2015, 2017 and 2019.
