Rugby’s motorway services voted best in Britain for second year running

MOTORISTS have voted Rugby’s motorway services as the best in Britain for the second year running.

The Moto services off junction one of the M6 came out on top in a user survey by independent transport user watchdog Transport Focus.

One hundred per cent of visitors were satisfied with their visit to Rugby Services, the newest site on the motorway network.

It was also rated highly for its food and drink, toilets and friendly staff.

The watchdog spoke to more than 30,000 visitors at 120 motorway services in Great Britain about their views on the toilets, customer service, value of the food and drink, and electric vehicle charging facilities.

A survey respondent who visited Rugby Services said: “Very clean and well laid out. Lots of choice for buying food and drinks. Lots of seating available both inside and out. Very attractive building inside, light and airy.”

Anthony Smith, chief executive of the independent watchdog Transport Focus, said: “Our survey shows motorway services offer a great experience, but there is still room for improvement, including making sure the range of food and drink on offer is good value for money for visitors as cost of living increases continue to bite.”

Rugby Services has also been ranked as the UK’s second-best for drivers of electric vehicles (EVs) in a study conducted by DriveElectric.

The site’s 24 electric vehicle chargers – comprising 12 ultra-rapid chargers and 12 Tesla chargers – puts it second only to Exeter Services on the M5, which has 28.

The services is also one of the cheapest places to charge a car, at just £0.52/kWh.

The £40million Rugby Services opened in April 2021.
