A BUS driver who has ferried generations of school students between Rugby and Princethorpe College has been given a warm send-off after retiring.
Stan Griffin of Catteralls Coaches has been driving Princethorpe College school buses for over 30 years.
In that time he has taken thousands of kids to the school on the S5 route through Rugby, Churchover, Brownsover, Clifton, Bilton, Cawston, Bourton and Frankton.
Fond Year 11 pupils Louis Coleby, Will Marshall, George Ward and Matt Wills wanted to thank him for his dedication.
So, unbeknownst to Stan, they arranged for him to be welcomed into the school assembly on Wednesday (April 10), the final day of the Lent term and Stan’s last day behind the wheel.
Stan was delighted to be invited up on stage to receive his retirement gift – a flying lesson.
After the presentation, there was time for a quick photo with some of his regular passengers next to his bus, before Stan drove the S5 home for the last time.
