STAFF and students at a Rugby secondary school are celebrating after it scored good grades in a national benchmarking system.
Rugby High School has achieved a Progress 8 measure of 0.79, indicating ‘well above average’ – the highest score in the town.
Progress 8 is based on students’ progress made from the end of Year 6, when the Key Stage 2 SATS in reading and maths are taken, in comparison to other pupils nationally.
Head teacher Mark Grady said: “We could not be happier with our Progress 8 score. It is a real measure of a school’s success.
“This score is testament to the skills of our highly trained staff, and the hard work of our students and families, as we all work together to meet the aspirations of our students. What a brilliant piece of news for the school and for our community.”
The school is hosting an Open Evening on Thursday November 16, 5.30-8.30pm, for students interested in studying in its Sixth Form. Visit www.rugbyhighschool.co.uk/rh6 for more information.
