A BUTCHERED sheep has been found in a field in Crick – the latest in a string of similar incidents.
The animal was killed in a field off Kilsby Road sometime between 3pm on Monday December 28 and noon on Wednesday December 30.
After the sheep was caught, it was killed and its meat was cut away. Its fleece was left in the field.
The incident followed a similar attack in Denton on December 28 when two pregnant sheep were butchered in a field.
A number of similar incidents have also been reported in the Denton and Brafield-on-the-Green areas over the past 18 months.
Anyone who sees unusual activity around fields, including torch light or suspicious vehicles, can call Northamptonshire Police on 101 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
The same numbers can be used to report people selling cheap meat in unusual circumstances.
