Slimmers to have their cake and eat it for cancer charity

A LOW-fat and low-sugar alternative coffee and cake event takes place in Rugby this evening (Thursday September 27).

A group of slimmers from Weight Watchers will be having their cake and eating it in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning.

They will serve up vegetable-inspired bakes including chickpea and white chocolate blondies, apple madeleines, Black Bean chocolate cake, courgette and chocolate chip brownies, yogurt and blueberry cake and carrot cake flapjacks.

It takes place at 7pm at Rugby Methodist Church in Russelsheim Way.

A BAKE-off is coming to Long Lawford for the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning.

Housing developer Bloor Homes will host the competition at The Brambles development in Back Lane.

All entries will be judged by the development site manager before being sliced and sold, along with any other cakes donated for the fundraising event.

The bake-off takes place on Friday (September 28) from 10am-12pm. Participants should bring their cakes to the Marketing Suite at The Brambles by 10.30am.
