A GOLD medallist bowled over members of a Rugby sports club when she paid a visit to support its open day.
England’s three-times Commonwealth Gold medallist bowler Ellen Falkner MBE visited Caldecott Park Bowling Club, where she spent time talking with members and gave an introductory bowls session to a visiting beginner.
She was promoting the Bowls Big Weekend 2021 campaign, which involved over 690 participating clubs.
The club’s Honorary Secretary Peter Aughton said: “As the only club in Warwickshire visited by Ellen, we were honoured and delighted to meet her.
“The Open Day was a wonderful opportunity to promote the sport locally and show the many improvements we have made to the club since 2020.”
