Spring Food Festival set to tickle town's tastebuds

FLAVOURS from around the world will tickle Rugbeians’ tastebuds at the town’s Spring Food and Drink Festival next month.

The free event, organised by Rugby First with support from St Andrew’s Church and Rugby Baptist Church, will take place in and around Regent Street on Saturday April 20.

Over 40 stalls will tempt the town with biltong, German sausages, Indian street food, Greek specialties, pork and chorizo burgers, flatbreads, gourmet brownies, Punjabi street food, cheeses, local honey and more, washed down with a selection of ales, gins and wines.

Entertainment includes a funfair, face painting, circus skills and live music.

Rugby First Business Director Linda Lowne said: “Our first main event of the year promises to provide a great day out for everyone, as well as having a significant impact on the town centre economy.

“Any restaurants, cafes, pubs, bars, or food or drink business interested in having a stall at the festival, please get in touch as there are still a few spaces available.”

The festival runs from 11am to 5pm on Saturday April 20. Visit www.rugbyfirst.org for more information.
