Stardom calling for Rugby Avon mums in new TV ad

FAME awaits for two former Rugby schoolfriends who were reunited through their work for Avon Cosmetics and have become the stars of the company’s new TV advert, beating over 400 hopefuls.

Mums Carrie Twining and Beci Clish, both 33, met at Bilton High School in the 90s and, after losing touch, were reunited years later when they joined Avon as sales leaders.

The new ad is one of the company’s two ‘Work it Your Way’ commercials which celebrate the way Avon reps fit their work around their lives.

And the pair won through after being chosen among 60 would-be actors to audition at Avon’s Northampton Head Office – where, an Avon spokesman said, they “demonstrated a flair for being in front of the camera as well as a life story relatable to Avon customers”.

Beci said: “I was extremely nervous at the auditions but realised these opportunities don’t come along for someone like me very often so I just went for it and showed them who I truly was.

“We were completely overwhelmed to be chosen, and we love the fact that Avon is using real Representatives.”

She added it was overwhelming to see herself pop up on screen, and never thought she would have such an opportunity.

“To see my kids faces when they watch it, lights up my world,” she said. “They are so proud of me; they already call me their celebrity mummy which is just lovely to hear.

Beci says her kids have started calling her their ‘celebrity mummy’.

“I’ve had a few of my friends message me saying they have seen me on the TV. My sister in Spain also messaged to say she seen it too. It doesn’t seem real.

Carrie added: “We hosted a screening party to celebrate with our friends and family, who are all so proud of our achievements with Avon.”

Avon Marketing Director Anthony Wells said: “It seems only fitting that our representatives take centre stage in this new campaign.”
