THE NIGHT sky over Rugby is looking a little bit different this week.
Stargazers are focused on the heavens but it is not planets or other galaxies they are looking out for – it is something far closer from home.
They have their telescopes and cameras trained on the latest batch of satellites launched by Elon Musk’s SpaceX firm – including Jack Derbisz who took these time lapse photos from Hillmorton.
Clear skies over Warwickshire made for perfect conditions to see the satellites which are part of the billionaire’s Starlink project to improve internet coverage across the globe.
Sophie Allan, from The National Space Centre in Leicester, told the BBC current good visibility was down to a combination of the batch’s low orbit, clear night skies and the angle of the satellites in relation to the sun.
