Stolen puppy reunited with owners

A STOLEN puppy has been reunited with her owners.

Officers from Rugby Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) were delighted to reunite Blossom, a stolen Cockapoo puppy, with her owners at Rugby Police Station.

Responding to a report of a dog in the road, officers from Rugby Safer Neighbourhood Team recovered a puppy near Ryton Pools, Bubbenhall. The puppy was taken to the vet where she was identified by her microchip as Blossom.

Blossom had been missing for five days. She was stolen from a van parked outside the Spar supermarket in Lutterworth Road, Nuneaton, while her owner went inside to do some shopping on Saturday May 1.

Officers are keen to talk to the driver of a light coloured BMW which was seen outside the shop at the time of the incident.

Insp Sally Bunyard-Spiers from Rugby SNT said: “We are happy that Blossom has been found safe and well and is reunited with her owners.

Dog theft is a callous and emotive crime. Blossom was not just a pet to her owners, she was considered part of their family.

“Leads are being actively pursued in and around the area where Blossom was located and we are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

“We are particularly interested in locating the driver of the BMW that was parked in the disabled space outside the Spar in Nuneaton at approximately 5.15pm on Saturday.”

Anyone with information or footage is asked to contact police via www.warwickshire.police.uk or by calling 101, quoting incident number 274 of May 1.

Information can also be given anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers via www.crimestoppers-uk.org or on 0800 555 111.
