Stuck bus causes rush hour chaos in Kenilworth

Rugby Editorial 3rd Nov, 2017   0

A BLUNDERING bus driver could have done worse than follow the advice on the side of his double decker.

He got stuck after driving down a closed road in Kenilworth. The number 11 bus became wedged on a traffic island during rush hour after the driver attempted a three-point turn down the closed road in New Street on Tuesday (October 31). It happened on the island next to Manor Road.

The some 30 passengers aboard were forced to get off while the driver called for help, and both lanes of traffic were blocked for two hours.

To add insult to injury, on the side of the bus was the exclamation ‘Noooooooooooo’ emblazoned across an O2 mobile phone advert.

A spokeswoman from National Express said: “We are investigating this incident and apologise for any inconvenience caused to local residents on New Street.”
