BRAVE feline-lovers have faced their fears and walked through fire to raise thousands for Rugby’s branch of the Cats Protection charity.
Ten Rugbeians took part in a sponsored firewalk for the charity, raising £2,342 to date – with more money yet to come in.
It was raised through sponsorship as well as a tombola and a raffle on the night of the event, which took place at The Barley Mow in Newbold.
The Rugby branch of the charity hosted the fiery fund-raiser so it could continue its work rehoming unwanted and abandoned cats in the community.
A Cats Protection spokesperson said: “As a charity, we rely solely on the generosity and kindness of people to enable us to continue the vital work that we do, caring for cats and kittens.”
