Suspected dealer arrested after police spot alleged drug sale in broad daylight

A SUSPECTED drug dealer has been arrested in Rugby after police spotted him allegedly selling a class A substance in broad daylight.

Officers from Rugby Proactive CID witnessed the suspected drug deal in East Union Street at around 2.50pm on Tuesday (December 7).

They searched the suspect and seized a quantity of what is believed to be a class A drug, a mobile phone, and cash.

Officers arrested a 20-year-old man from Birmingham on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a controlled drug. He has been released under investigation while enquiries continue.




Anyone with information that could help police with their enquiries is asked to call police on 101 quoting incident 227 of December 7. Information can also be provided anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
