Officers on patrol in the town witnessed a suspected drug deal in Alexander Walk at around 3.30pm on Thursday June 3.

A man attempted to run away when challenged by officers.

A 27-year-old man from Rugby was arrested on Arnold Street when he was found to be carrying suspected Class A and B drugs, two mobile phones and a large sum of cash.

Resulting investigations led to a search of homes in Charles Warren Close and Market Street. A large amount of drugs were seized and two women, aged 20 and 40, were arrested.

All three suspects have been bailed until October 1 on suspicion of being concerned in supplying controlled drugs.

Investigating officers are appealing for anyone with information to call 101, quoting incident number 248 of June 3.
