Suspected drug dealer arrested after being spotted in Rugby

A SUSPECTED drug dealer has been arrested after being spotted by plain clothes police officers.

Members of the Warwickshire Police proactive CID team were on patrol in Newbold Road when they saw a suspected drug deal.

They arrested a 40-year-old man of no fixed abode on suspicion of possession of a class A drug with intent to supply, and seized a quantity of what they believe to be a class A drug.

DC Thomas Quinlan from Warwickshire Police proactive CID said: “Our message to anyone dealing drugs in Warwickshire is that we are looking out for you.




“People dealing drugs cause a great deal of misery in the local community and we’re determined to get them off our streets.”

The suspect has been released under investigation while enquiries continue.
