SUSPECTED thieves led police on a 120-miles-per-hour chase down the motorway last night (Tuesday December 17).
Officers responding to a report of men trying to steal from an HGV in Rugby spotted the car involved, which drove off.
Police chased it along the M6 northbound, where it reached speeds of 120mph.
The car left the M6 at junction 2, tried to go the wrong way down the motorway, and then went up the M69 – again reaching speeds of 120mph.
When it exited at junction 1, it crashed into two other cars before police forced the car to a halt.
Three men were arrested and enquiries continue.
