Teenage girl seriously injured in collision in village near Lutterworth

A TEENAGE girl was seriously injured after a car collided with her in a village near Lutterworth yesterday (Wednesday March 29).

A blue Vauxhall Corsa struck the teenage pedestrian in Broughton Astley on the B581 Broughton Way near the junction with Station Road just after 3pm.

The girl was taken to hospital by ambulance. Her family are being supported by police officers.

Detectives are making enquiries to establish the circumstances of the collision.




Det Cons Charlotte Wright, from Leicestershire Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “Full support is being provided to those involved in the incident as we continue our enquiries to establish what has happened. We are carrying out a full investigation at the scene of the collision including speaking with a number of witnesses.

“If you witnessed the collision or saw the vehicle or pedestrian beforehand, and have not yet spoken to police, then please do make contact with us.


“If you have any dashcam footage from the area at the time, please also get in touch with us.”
