RESIDENTS are being urged to wrap up in appropiate clothing tomorrow as temperatures are set to dip to a low of -6 degrees.
A widespread frost is predicted across the region with highs expected to peak in the afternoon when temperatures reach three degrees.
As a result, Warwickshire County Council has warned those who are particularly vulnerable to the effects of cold to stay warm and avoid potential illness or injury.
With one in three people eligible for a free NHS flu vaccination, Coun Les Caborn advised several thin layers is better than one thick layer.
He added: “Keep warm and healthy by keeping rooms heated to at least 18C during the day and at night and make sure you are wearing suitable clothing.”
Dr John Linnane, Warwickshire County Council’s director of public health, told residents to be good neighbours and check in on friends, relatives and family who may be vulnerable to the cold.
Anyone concerned about their health should ring the NHS on 111 if there situation is urgent but not an emergency.
