Textile artists to make Rugby debut

A GROUP of textile artists are making their Rugby debut – hot on the heels of successful recent exhibitions at Alexandra Palace, Delapré Abbey, Leicester and Olney.

Visualise, an exhibition by the ISE Textile Group, will showcase new contemporary stitched art textiles and mixed media work at the Rugby Art Gallery and Museum’s Floor One Gallery from Saturday (January 13).

ISE – which stands for Inspiration for Stitch and Expression – was formed several years ago, by 13 like-minded artists who enjoy creating diverse work with stitch as the common thread.

The group’s stated aim is to ‘promote creativity with rigorous discipline, underpinned by knowledge of textiles worldwide’.

The exhibition will feature abstract, realistic and figurative art and accessories, including lighting, using a wide variety of media, stitched or felted to create art inspired by both the natural world and the built environment.

The exhibition runs until Thursday January 25. Visit www.ragm.co.uk for more information.
