AN ANCIENT art form will be showcased this weekend by members of the Tamil community.
Members of Thaai Tamizh Sangam (TTS), a group representing Warwickshire’s Tamil community, will compete with each other to draw free hand geometric designs with rice flour called Kolams.
It is part of TTS’ Rugby Tamil Fest project, which aims to spread awareness of the Tamil culture through free activities such as cooking demonstrations and art and dance classes over the forthcoming year – thanks to a £10,000 National Lottery grant.
The Kolam Competition takes place at Church Lawford Village Hall on Saturday (October 27) at 12noon to 3pm. All are welcome.
BILTON Methodist Church hosts a coffee morning and book sale in aid of Rugby Foodbank on Saturday October 27 from 10am until 12noon.
Make a cash or food donation for entry.
DOGS will be looking their best at the Warwickshire Events Centre on Sunday October 28.
The centre on the Fosse way near Leamington will be hosting The 2018 British Dog Grooming Championship.
There will be seminars, demonstrations, and trade stands at the event running from 7.30am to 6pm.
