THREE people have been charged with murder following the death of a man at a house in Kenilworth.

Lewis Dowling, aged 24, of Yarnfield Road, Birmingham, Patricia Dowling, aged 49, of Chestnut Avenue, Kenilworth and a 16-year-old boy from Kenilworth, who can’t be named for legal reasons, were charged on Monday (March 23) following the launch of a murder investigation.

All three, who are white British, were remanded in custody to appear at Coventry Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday (March 24).

A 72-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

Police and paramedics responded to a call to a house in Chestnut Avenue just before midnight on Friday (March 20) where a man in his 40s found in cardiac arrest died.

The deceased’s next of kin has been informed.

Det Supt Charlie Naughton said: “While I know this will cause shock in the local community, I’d like to assure them there remains no risk to the wider public and we believe the incident was contained to the house.

“We’ll have officers in the area – carrying out further enquiries and providing reassurance – over the coming days, so if you have any questions, please speak to them.

“Equally, if you’ve got any information that could help our ongoing investigation and you haven’t already come forward, please tell us.”
