THE HIGHEST honour available to members of the Boys Brigade has been presented to a 16-year-old from Rugby.

Jacob Coleman received the Queens Badge award for his work in the community from Mayor Richard Dodd on behalf of the Brigades Patron, the Queen.

The hard work which earned him the award included spending over 30 hours as a young leader in the Brigade, helping to run activities for a group of five-to-eight year-olds, racking up over 30 hours of airtime for Christmas charity radio station Cracker FM, and helping out at the town’s soup kitchen.

Jacob has been a member of the Boys Brigade at Rugby Baptist Church for 12 years, and now joins a long list of young men from the 1st Rugby Company who have received the prestigious award.

The Boys Brigade provides activities for five to 19-year-olds and meets on Friday nights at 6.30pm at the church on Regent Place. For more information contact Richard Meacham on 07794 509599.
