AN ASSAULT victim is in hospital with serious injuries after his head was stamped on during an early-hours attack in the town centre.
He was injured when two groups of men confronted each other in Sheep Street at 5.15am on Saturday (August 3).
He was rushed to University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire where he is currently in a stable condition. His injuries continue to be assessed and monitored.
Another member of his group suffered an injury to his ankle during the assault, but did not require hospital treatment.
The other group walked off towards Corporation Street.
Police said CCTV footage showed people were watching the incident, and asked for witnesses to come forward.
