Town centre businesses asked to help paint Rugby red, white and blue for Coronation

BUSINESSES in Rugby are being asked to help paint the town red, white and blue for the Coronation.

Rugby First has asked all town centre businesses to dress their shop windows as part of the national celebrations for the King’s Coronation on Saturday May 6.

Linda Lowne, Rugby First Business and Stakeholder Manager, said: “We already have had a number of businesses say they will be dressing their windows but we would love more to get involved.

“Not only is it a historic occasion but it is also a great opportunity for businesses to get creative. It generates positive feedback from customers, and the additional promotion through Rugby First’s social media platforms helps raise the business’ profile.

“The best dressed window will be judged by the Mayor of Rugby on Saturday May 6 and a trophy will be presented to the winning business by a very special visitor to the town centre.

“The competition winner will be promoted by Rugby First via social media, its website and the local press – so some great free promotion for the business. All registered entries will also be publicised via our social media platforms.”

King Charles III’s coronation will take place on Saturday 6 May 2023 at Westminster Abbey in London. During the ceremony, the King will be crowned alongside Camilla, the Queen Consort.
