TRIBUTES have been paid to a dad-to-be who died after his cycle crashed with a car.

Sam Davies was rushed to hospital but later died following the accident at the junction of the A4071 and Lawford Road around 8.20am on Friday (January 8).

Friends of the 24-year-old have set up a donation webpage to raise funds for funeral costs and a trust for his unborn baby girl, due in March.

And his grieving colleagues at the Xercise4less gym where he worked as a membership consultant have dedicated today’s (Wednesday January 13) launch day to his memory.

The fund-raising webpage states: “The world lost a son, brother, uncle, friend, boyfriend and a future daddy in a tragic accident that has left us all numb and heartbroken.

“I ask you all to please share this link along with a small donation to help in their time of need. The gift you give today will allow and help Sam’s family and loved ones to grieve without the stress of financial burdens and pay towards a trust for his unborn baby girl.

“It is clear to see that Sam has left a massive hole in so many peoples lives. He will never be forgotten and his cheeky smile will forever be in our memories.”

Tonya Roberts, general manager at the Wood Street gym, said it was the least they could do to devote their opening day to music-loving Sam and his family.

Describing Sam as incredible, she added: “I’ve never come across a more popular guy than Sam. Everyone liked him because he was such a friendly guy.

“All of the money he was earning was for his little girl, and he was extremely proud of that fact.

“Now he can’t fulfil what he wanted for his little one, as a team we decided we’d try to do what he now can’t do.”

The fund-raising day takes place today (Wednesday January 13) from 9am to 4pm at the Xercise4less gym in Wood Street.

Sample classes in body pump and yoga will be on offer, and stars from MTV’s Ex On The Beach will be completing fitness challenges throughout the day.
