Two arrested after police spot suspected drug deal in town centre

TWO men have been arrested on suspicion of drugs offences in Rugby.

Plain-clothed officers witnessed a suspected drug deal in Church Street at around 2pm on Wednesday (October 13).

A quantity of suspected class A drugs, a mobile phone and a quantity of cash were seized and a 29-year-man from Leicester arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply.

Shortly afterwards, officers stopped a man on Drury Lane and seized a quantity of drugs, cash and a mobile phone. A 36-year-old man of no fixed abode was arrested on suspicion of possession of class A drugs with intent to supply.




Both men remain in police custody.
