Victim treated following 'sickening' attack

A ‘SICKENING’ attack in Rugby left a victim unconscious and in need of hospital treatment.

The 52-year-old was assaulted outside the Wheeltapper pub in Railway Terrace at around 8.30pm on Saturday (August 25).

The victim was rushed to hospital with facial injuries after a man struck him several times over the head after an argument.

PC Danielle Bristow said: “This was a sickening attack that left the victim unconscious.

“There were a lot of people around at the time so we’re keen to speak to anyone who saw the incident or the events leading up to it.”

Anyone with information should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
