Vigilance warning after Rugby woman's purse taken

Rugby Editorial 22nd Oct, 2015 Updated: 27th Oct, 2016

AN ELDERLY woman’s purse was stolen from her shopping trolley while her back was turned.

The woman was shopping in Aldi in Hillmorton Road at around 9.50am on Thursday October 1 when a man took the purse from her open handbag.

PC Tez Cottingham said: “We are keen to trace the man pictured as we believe he could help officers with their enquires.

“We would urge anyone who recognises him, or has any information about the incident, to call us on 101.

“I would also like to take this opportunity to stress how important it is to keep your belongings secure and with you at all times. Opportunist thieves will take advantage of any unattended items.”
