FAMILIES in Harborough Magna came together to celebrate the opening of the village’s new-look playground with a Party In The Park.

Harborough Magna Parish Council chairman Coun Toby France cut the ribbon on the new playground.
The upgraded play area now features a climbing wall, swings, a roundabout, slides and a wildflower meadow.
The £75,000 refurbishment was funded by Swift Ford Solar Farm, the SUEZ Landfill Community Fund and The National Lottery Community Fund, with villagers also raising money for planting around the benches.
Parish Council chairman Coun Toby France cut the ribbon to officially open the facility, before villagers enjoyed bubbly, a barbecue and plenty of playtime for excited youngsters.
The council also plans to team up with Early Birds Nursery in September to help kit out the site’s Bug Hotel and add to the playground’s attractions.
Coun France thanked everyone who supported the project, adding: “The council is delighted to provide a safe, fun, and inclusive space for children to enjoy for years to come.”
