Village green volunteers offer warm welcome

VOLUNTEERS in Hillmorton have provided a warm welcome to their village green.

Hillmorton Village Greens Association (HVGA) has built a field gate on the green at the top of Deerings Road, together with two planters and a welcome sign.

A new sign promoting the association has also been put up as part of the revamp, to help Hillmorton go for gold in the Heart of England In Bloom competition.

HVGA Secretary Shirley Willis thanked volunteer Martin Dodwell for doing a ‘super job’ on the new sign, Edward Gasgoine for donating the gate, Hillmorton charities for donating the planters and plants, and Chris Worman and his team at Rugby Borough Council for their ‘invaluable’ help and advice.

She added: “Last but not least, thanks to all our volunteers who give their time willingly to make Hillmorton Village Green an asset to Hillmorton.”
