ROAD safety lessons are being brought to virtual life for pupils.
Warwickshire County Council was chosen to trial an augmented reality app which layers virtual reality objects over real world settings to help youngsters identify risks on the roads.
Westgate Primary School in Warwick was one of the first to try the app in a bid to boost road safety awareness.
And following a successful introduction, Arility has now been rolled out nationwide and can be downloaded on iPad and Android devices.
County transport spokesman Coun Jeff Clarke said: “We put children at the heart of all we do and are committed to doing the very best to protect them. We are proud Warwickshire has been selected as the first region to use this cutting edge technology, which gives young children the chance to learn from various risky scenarios while sitting safely in the classroom.”
