Volunteer dog walkers needed to keep resident and beloved German Shepherd together

Rugby Editorial 14th Jun, 2019   0

DOG walking volunteers are needed to keep a Rugby resident and their ‘lovely’ German Shepherd together.

The Cinnamon Trust charity is looking for people who can spare time to walk nine-year-old Holly.

The charity helps those with terminal illnesses and housebound elderly residents who have lost the ability to look after their pets.

A spokeswoman for the trust said: “A large number of elderly or ill pet owners become very worried about their ability to care for their pets, feeling that their only option is to rehome them.

“This is where our dedicated volunteers step in to offer support enabling them to stay together.”

The charity also supports owners of other animals including through taking pets to vet visits, fostering when owners are in hospital, picking up food or cleaning out cages or litter trays.
