Volunteers help to spruce up gardens of charity which puts smiles on disadvantaged children's faces

VOLUNTEERS from a Rugby warehouse have spruced up the gardens of a charity which puts a smile on the faces of disadvantaged children.

Employees from the town’s Amazon fulfilment centre gave up their time to help the Phoenix Children’s Foundation, which provides activities for children who live with disabilities, illness, or lack of opportunities.

The volunteers visited the charity’s Leicestershire-based sensory gardens to help with painting, maintenance and caring for the animals on site.

The Amazon Rugby team has supported Phoenix Children’s Foundation since January 2022 through donations, volunteering, and visits to the fulfilment centre.

The charity’s Anita Withers said: “We are very grateful for the ongoing support. I would like to thank the team on behalf of everyone at Phoenix Children’s Foundation for the contribution of their time and efforts to help to the work we do.”

Volunteer Paul Blake said: “We are always happy to support Phoenix Children’s Foundation and continue our relationship with a great charity in our area.

“It was a pleasure to be involved in supporting its work and see first-hand the difference the charity’s efforts make.”
