THE CLEAN up is underway in the wake of Storm Ciara.
Some 20 trees came down on Warwickshire roads during Sunday’s storm.
Warwickshire Police has thanked residents who helped with chainsaws and farm machinery after winds up to 65mph battered the county.
Police were exceptionally busy dealing with incidents involving flooding, blocked roads and accidents on roads.
Travel was also badly disrupted on both road and rail.
In Stretton On Dunsmore, Frankton Lane was closed after a roof was blown off a garage.
Attractions also closed their doors in the interest of public safety, including both Warwick Castle and Kenilworth Castle, and the National Trust cared for Charlecote Park.
Several flood alerts remain in place including for the River Leam, River Itchen, River Blythe, River Alne, Upper Avon and the River Swift following the heavy rain.
Many heeded the warning to only venture out if ‘absolutely necessary’ as the storm swept across the county.
