THE NEWEST school in Rugby has expanded its library thanks to a donation from a housebuilder.
St Gabriel’s CofE Academy in Houlton has been given books worth £2,500 by Davidsons Homes.
The primary school’s head teacher Andrew Taylor said: “We’re extremely grateful for the very generous donation which has helped us provide a range of high-quality reading material.
“We want to inspire our pupils to become avid readers and a well-stocked school library is key to this.
“As a new school, any help like this to provide for our pupils is very much appreciated.”
St Gabriel’s CofE Academy first opened its doors to an initial intake of 71 pupils last September.
Davidsons Homes’ Simon Tyler said: “The community at Houlton is particularly close to our hearts as we’ve seen it grow from strength to strength since we first started building here in 2016.
“We really hope the students enjoy the books we’ve been able to provide for many years to come.”
