Witnesses sought after robbers hit Rugby phone shop

Rugby Editorial 29th Mar, 2016 Updated: 27th Oct, 2016   0

ROBBERS armed with crowbars pulled up at a Rugby retail park and stole phones and cash from a mobile phone store.

Two men pulled up in a black car, similar to a Ford C-Max, at around 6.50pm on Thursday March 17 at Junction One retail park on Leicester Road.

They entered the shop through the main front entrance, carrying tools believed to be crowbars, and instructed staff to let them into the stockroom.

Their loot was placed in a large yellow bag.

The offenders then left the shop through the same entrance and got into the vehicle, which drove off in an unknown direction.

One of the offenders is described as a white man, approximately 5ft 6ins tall, of a large build. He was believed to be in his 30s and was missing two top teeth. He was thought to be wearing dark tracksuit bottoms, a dark round-neck t-shirt, a black hooded top and a balaclava covering his face. It is thought he spoke with a local accent.

The other offender is described as a mixed race man, in his late 20s and approximately 6ft tall. He was also believed to be wearing dark coloured clothes and a knitted balaclava. Both men were wearing gloves.

Police would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the offence or who may have seen anything suspicious before or after the incident. Please call police on 101, quoting incident 390 of March 17.

Alternatively, information can be given anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers, via www.crimestoppers-uk.org or on 0800 555 111.
