Women’s Institute members raise a glass with care home residents on World Cocktail Day

A GLASS was raised when members of local Women’s Institutes (WIs) joined residents of a Rugby care home on World Cocktail Day.

Deerings Regent Daytime WI President Alison Elliott, Catherine Duffield-Smith, and Meryl Gregory from Hillmorton Paddox WI visited Overslade House Care Home to donate a beautiful crotched blanket to the home.

Celebrations included a fashion show from Wanda’s Fashions in Dunchurch, and cosmetics from Tropic Skin Care.

Cocktails – from Mojitos and Daiquiris to pink gin – and a selection of cakes were served to residents.

Alison Elliott said: “We are delighted to be donating this blanket to Overslade House and every ounce of love and hard work has been put into this blanket by many ladies of the WIs.”
