YOUNG musicians are invited into the spotlight to compete in an annual competition.
The RIBI Young Musician of the Year competition takes place in January – and soloists who were under the age of 18 on August 31 can enter now.
The competition, run jointly by the Rotary Clubs of Rugby and Warwickshire Music, will see competitors will perform in two categories – Solo Instrumental and Solo Vocal. Winners will go through to the district stage of the competition.
The performances will take place at Lawrence Sheriff School’s main hall (‘Big School’) on Thursday January 16 from 7pm. Tickets costing £5 for adults and £3 for under-16s will be available on the door from 6.30pm. Profits go to the Rotary Music Bursary Fund to help young musicians in the area.
