Young Rugby musicians to showcase talents at concert

TALENTED young musicians will take the spotlight at a special showcase of their talents later this month.

The Rotary Showcase Concert will feature up-and-coming musicians including Rugby’s Got Talent winner Kieran Taylour and runners-up Emily Goodwin and Sasha Roberts, and guest star Amie Boyd who was a judge at the competition.

Instrumentalists Amelia Thompson, Simon Svihura and a primary-school ukulele band from Warwickshire Music Hub will also perform.

All performers have been supported by Rugby’s three Rotary clubs via the Rugby Rotary Music Bursaries Trust – for which the concert will raise funds.

Speaking on behalf of the trustees of the Music Bursaries Trust, Mike Folly said: “This is a lovely opportunity to celebrate the many ways in which the Rotary Clubs support youth music in the town through the year.

“We do this by raising and donating money, but also by working with other organisations and businesses to arrange events which give young people the chance to show their remarkable range of talents.

“Please come to share our delight in supporting performances from young starters and some of the finest young musicians in the town – an evening to rejoice in.”

The concert takes place at Dunchurch Village Hall on Friday September 28 at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £15 each, including pre-supper nibbles, pizza and salad, and fruit/cheese platter. A wine bar, soft drinks and a raffle will also be available.

All profits to be donated to the Rugby Rotary Music Bursaries Trust. Email [email protected] or call 07766 701289 for tickets.
