Young rugby players to tackle world record attempt at this weekend's Bikefest

YOUNG rugby players are gearing up to tackle a World Record attempt at this Sunday’s Bikefest in Rugby town centre – and they need Rugbeians’ help.

Rugby Lions Minis and Juniors will try to set the record for the most signatures ever seen on a single rugby ball.

The club, which was named by the RFU as the country’s fifth fastest growing minis and juniors side in October, is looking to create a brand new world record for the first time when it sets up a stand outside the old Briggs shoe shop in Market Place during the Bikefest.

All are welcome to visit the stand and sign the giant rugby ball – and all children who do sol will get a free Rugby Lions M&Js wristband.

The team of volunteers will also be advertising the club’s free rugby sessions, which run from June 30 until August 18 for all primary school children.
