Young teenage girl subjected to ‘horrifying’ assault by two men

A YOUNG teenage girl has been subjected to a ‘horrifying’ assault by two men in Hillmorton.

The 13-year-old was attacked in the alleyway that runs from Featherbed Lane Recreation Ground, behind Aldi and onto Kingsley Avenue, on Monday June 21 between 4pm and 4:30pm.

The victim was approached by two unknown men who asked her for money. One of the men grabbed her by the throat, causing injuries.

The men are described as being in their 40s. One was wearing a grey jumper and light blue jeans, and the other was wearing a black jumper and jeans. Both were wearing blue surgical face masks and had eastern European accents.

A spokesperson for Rugby Police said: “This was a horrifying unprovoked attack on a young girl who was just walking home at the time of the offence.”

Anyone who has any information that may assist police with their investigation, or who was in the area at the time, is asked to call 101 and quote incident number 387 of June 21.
