ADAM Roynon has signed for Coventry Bees as the club’s third ‘draft’ reserve for the forthcoming 2016 Elite League campaign.
Top flight clubs are now permitted to name a third ‘draft’ reserve who can act as cover during the campaign.
James Sarjeant and Josh Bates were initially selected by the Bees at the sport’s AGM back in November, and Roynon now also comes into the squad.
The 27-year-old was Coventry’s Rider of the Year in 2012 but then suffered a cruel series of injuries which caused his career in the Elite League to stall.
After an early-season crash at Peterborough, he spent the majority of the 2015 campaign with Redcar, but has now returned to Workington in the Premier League, for whom he last rode four years ago.
Roynon’s last appearance for Coventry was as a guest rider in a 58-34 home win over Wolverhampton in September 2014.
He has recently returned from a ‘racing holiday’ to America with Sarjeant, and was quick to agree a deal to add some Elite League meetings to his schedule as and when required.
