GOLF: KEVIN Bennett held his Captains Day for Members of Rugby Golf Club title on Saturday afternoon.
Played on parkland course, the event was attended by 123 members from different sections of the club.
Bennett, who has been a member of the club for more than three years, entered the competition in a good run of form having reduced his handicap to 14.
He won the Stableford competition with 43 points, finishing clear of Warren Elliot who came a close second with 42 points.
Jamie Snowdon finished in joint third with Ian Ridley and Matt Bell while the minor places were held by Paul Ridgeway, Kevin McGhee and Steve Watts.
Captain Mike Klodzinski thanked all players that attended the day, including some of the tournament’s key sponsors.
The day’s events were a ‘hole in one’ competition, beat the pro, srixon ball testing and a duck race.
Evening events included talented 11-year-old singer Macey Quinn stretching her vocal chords while The Courthouse also players.
The day raised more than £700 for the Alzheimer’s Society.
