RUGBY Borough recovered from their first defeat in the Leicestershire Senior League Premier Division by easing their way to a 2-0 victory over Blaby & Whetstone.
Thomas Glasscoe and Tom Rawlings were both on target for the hosts at Kilsby Lane, keeping Borough in third and maintaining their chase for the league summit.
The two goalscorers were the only two players brought into the starting line-up, with Rawlings requiring only 11 minutes on his return from injury to tap in from Charlie Cook’s cross.
Having had the majority of the ball, Rugby were unable to force many clear-cut chances, being made to wait until the 67th minute to double their lead when Glasscoe placed the ball into the bottom corner to wrap up.
Borough visit Coventry Plumbing in the Coventry Charity Cup on Saturday (1.45pm).
