AN AMATEUR boxer from Rugby made a winning return to the ring following a nine-year absence from the sport.
Watts, a fireman based at Rugby Fire Station, first boxed for Bakehouse Boxing Club in the town 12 years ago.
And he is now eyeing up a run in the professional ranks after winning his return bout at Sports Connexion in Ryton.
Watts claimed victory by stoppage in the second round as the referee waved off the contest.
Despite a last-minute change of opponent, Watts proved too sharp for Nate Davey.
