A TRIO of braces guaranteed Brinklow under-15’s a perfect end to the year after extending their lead at the top of Division D of the Coventry & Warwickshire Youth League.
A thumping 6-0 victory over Hawksmill at Wolston Community Leisure Centre pushes the leaders eight points clear, albeit having played four games more than second-placed Binley Woods and two more than Leamington Brakes in third.
The result – in which Daniel Frodsham, Jed Jankowski and Ryan Prior scored a couple of goals each for their efforts – was all the more impressive when considering that the visitors went into the game on the back of two thumping victories.
Frodsham put the hosts ahead after a lively start, with the lead being doubled by Prior’s audacious lob into the net from 30 yards out before half time.
While Hawksmill rallied after the break, Brinklow went further ahead when Prior fired home his second following Matty Natawidjaja’s breakaway.
Jed Jankowski put the ball on a plate for Frodsham to net his second, before turning goalscorer to also complete a brace.
Brinklow return after the winter break with a home game against Binley Woods on Sunday January 5.
