KIMBERLEY Woods won silver and bronze representing Great Britain at the ICF Canoe Slalom World Cup in La Seu, Spain.
Woods, from Rugby, took C1 bronze after a stunning performance in the women’s final to claim a first medal in the canoe for nearly four years.
And Woods then won silver in the kayak cross in the last international event before the World Championships in London later this month.
Woods said: “I’m really happy to come away with another medal, it’s been a long time since I’ve had a World Cup event with multiple medals so that’s great for me to build confidence ahead of the World Championships.
“It’s been four years since I’ve been on the podium in C1, so I’m super happy with my first race in the new boat and just getting used to it now.
“I’m super happy to be back on the podium again with the best paddlers in the world.
“I had a top two mentality, I wanted to get through each round and pick the right fights.
“I knew I was strong and to have the Olympic and World kayak gold medallist [Ricarda Funk] next to me, really fired me up in the final.
“It was great to be on the podium with Joe [Clarke] as well, it’s really exciting ahead of the home World Championships.”
In the women’s C1 final, Woods led by a second and a half at the first split before increasing her advantage in the middle section despite a touch on gate 12.
And she eventually crossed the line in 109.02 seconds with only Olympic champion Jess Fox and 2022 World champion Andrea Herzog able to beat Woods’ time.
Woods also won silver in the kayak cross as she eased through the time trials before finishing behind Germany’s Elena Lilik in the final.
The Rugby canoeist will next take to the water at Lee Valley White Water Centre in the World Championships as nations attempt to secure quota places for the Paris 2024 Olympics.
