CRICKET - Bourton and Frankton ease to friendly win thanks to huge opening stand

UNBEATEN centuries from Richard Parsons and Dale Coles led Bourton and Frankton to a convincing 148-run friendly win at Braunston Paddox.

Parsons made 103 (retired not out) whilst Coles made 101 before calling a day on at his time at the crease as their opening partnership yielded over 200 runs.

And Daniel McManus added a further 43 and with George Smith chipping in with 31 not out as Bourton racked up an impressive total of 301-1 from their 40 overs.

In reply, opener Elijah Glover proved the mainstay of the host’s innings with 81 but lacked support in the middle as Pat McManus took 3-32, Stuart McQuillan 3-20 and Mick Waller 4-20 to bowl Braunston out for 157 some 148 runs short of the required total.

Bourton are next in action against Marton in another friendly on Sunday, September 4 with the game set to begin at 1pm.
